As the name suggests its the story of a man who has accidentally become a husband and perhaps, my watching this movie was accidental too. The story is pretty much like typical Bollywood masala movie, imaginably due to the Indian-ism of this movie.
The story goes like this: A famous "love doctor", Dr Emma Lloyd on radio station gives love advice to all of her listeners, especially girls. This character is played by very pretty Uma Thurman. One day she happen to give an advice to a girl who is supposed to get married in 2 day, after a very influential advice this girl calls off her wedding to a very handsome and caring Patrick Sullivan, who is a firefighter. This role is played by a very dashing and extremely infatuating Jeffery Dean Morgan. So, in order to take revenge, Patrick manipulates some online legal records, with the help of an Indian master mind boy and gets his and Emma's marriage registered under the LAW OF UNITED STATES. She finds out about this eventually at the time of registering her actual marriage with the love of her life, Richard, character played by ravishing Colin Firth.
This leads her to Mr Sullivan. She confronts him to sign the legal papers declaring that their marriage never happened. The incidents after incidents, meetings after meetings, leads them to fall for each other. SO TYPICAL.
The whole movie after this is a very big confusion. I could not decide what they wanted to do? Did they love each other or not? OMG. As I said its a complete Masala movie. You can picture the end yourself....Its goes something like this:
The wedding dress, The beautiful girl ready to marry her guy, The picturesque church, The girl's Father, The father's advice at the last moment (which apparently he could not give any earlier), The girl's final talk and apology to the guy (which she apparently could not do any earlier), and then what best she can do to evacuate the church and call her new guy of dreams???? well, remember I said he is a firefighter...so what is best than activating the fire alarm? and here is goes, the new groom and bride happily married for ever after.
However, I just loved the last scene, where Emma is pregnant and Patrick comes to the radio station to see her and his baby. That scene is with the best background sound ever, Swasame from a Tamil movie.
alas the movie is finished and the names are scrolling with the same song in the background. Very good effects to cool off the headache of people watching this movie.
The plus points in the movie: Some Indian songs and you can enjoy everyone dancing to those tunes, The last scene, A cake tasting scene where Patrick exceeds all limits of irritating Emma. And THAT'S IT.
I feel like I should be very stringent right now. So, I will give this movie 1 and half stars.
